statement / about the work

"These listening scores were initially created in Reykjavík, Iceland, in March 2020 as a part of my stay at the SÍM artist residency run by The Icelandic Artist Association. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the state of emergency that became a reality in mid-March, these scores were never exhibited at the SÍM Gallery and implemented into the city as planned.

This publication is therefore intended for the purpose of distributing and activating these listening scores, to create and facilitate a bridge between the local and the universal in their character. Embracing the reality of the current situation. Some of the scores are created with a specific place in mind, but their wording can be used anywhere that bears the same characteristics and facilitate a listening experience, wherever you are located.

All scores are created in my mother tongue Danish, in Icelandic (the local language of the place where they were created), and in English (for broader understanding and implementation). The Map marks the places in Reykjavík where the scores were conceived for and inspired by."
