Collective Art Talk at performance protocols (2021)

about the project

Sunday May 9th 2021 at 13.00-15.00 CET

Meeting place at Folkets Park, in front of Folkets Hus, 2200 Copenhagen N.

For this event created in collaboration with the philosophy network Outside Collective, we met outside in Folkets Park. Standing together in the park, the Collective Art Talk started with Emil Bach Sørensen from Outside Collective introducing the concept behind it, as an art assembly which critically examines ideas around collective reading and thinking together. Afterwards, artist researcher and curator Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen introduced performance protocols as a nomadic platform for collaborative practices and the current topic of walking in art and philosophy, as method. Madsen continued to introduce her current artistic research in performance art and affect, here specifically her work with the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze og Félix Guattari. We then proceeded to read together a few fragments of philosophical texts, which activated modes of relating and the affective body, as well as thinking in practice. The selections were from Deleuze and Guattari as well as Erin Manning and Brian Massumi (the excerpts with full references can be found through the link below). This Collective Art Talk was thus moving between modes of philosophy and artistic research, reading together as collective organism, while standing in a circle-formation, as well as walking and thinking together through the park and outside Lokale.

This Collective Art Talk was curated by Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen and Emil Bach Sørensen.
